Ok so I know this is probably uninteresting to anyone but me, but I just can't quite believe that it's happening. So I thought putting it up here would somehow calm me down a bit. I literally cannot believe the things this person is saying to me. I listed some stuff on eBay between Christmas & New Year. It was a lot of stuff & I made a couple of mistakes. In this I wrote it was 100% silk when there's no label. I believed it to be, but I should've stated this. I bought the dress in a charity shop as a dress, rather than a slip and have worn it as such. I never noticed any thread or obvious signs it had been cut out of something else. It said in the listing that it was sheer & a slip style. Jesus, the listing says Slip Dress in big ass letters in it.

The thing is, I don't know what to do. She paid fucking 99p for something! I have bought stuff on eBay for 99p and if it turns up & it's not 100% what I want I just think, "Fuck it, it was only a pound" Isn't that what rational human beings do? I can only assume that she's getting off on making me think the whole of man kind is a screwed up little fuck tard who likes to belittle honest people by scaring them with quotes from the eBay handbook. But there's no way to complain. I've already given her positive feedback so what else can I do? You can't give buyers back feedback. Although I do notice they already have a few comments removed after leaving bad feedback.

I just hate how angry/upset it's making me. What should I do?

  1. I've had buyers flip out on me for the most idiotic, imbecilic reasons--but in he end, what can you do? I agree it's ridiculous that she's taking such enormous offense over something that cost her next to nothing, and she's obviously on a power trip. At the same time though, you did err in saying it was 100% silk when you weren't 100% sure (always gotta cover your ass! Give them an inch...)

Ultimately, all you can do is be the bigger man. Issuing her a refund including original postage is more than many stores and most ebay sellers would do, especially for such a small sale, but it is the right thing to do. Re-iterate the offer in a cool but polite manner, and then let it be. Don't waste anymore of your time and energy fueling her self-righteous fires.

  3. Ugh, I know. The internet brings out the crazies as is, but when you add money into the equation--all bets are off!

  4. gee wizz that's a bit of an ordeal isn't it. first off the person is clearly trying to undermind you with the way she is saying things and acting as a higher power. so first of all i would contact ebay and ask for their advice , tell them the whole picture. you have evidence on how she has spoke to you. under the distance selling act if an item is not as described then the seller does have to issue a full refund which is the deal. it is only £1 but i guess to this person the money isn't the issue, it's the principle so i guess you may have to concede that bit. but there's always things ebay can do to help so i would get in touch. this person sounds horrid though. kick her ass.

  6. Wow, she certainly has an outrageously pompous way with words! Bloody hell, its eBay (and 99p), she needs to chill out. The advice you've already been given is solid, you can't really reason with someone in that kind of mindframe. Hope this all gets sorted!

  7. I've had buyer do this exact thing. (I actually checked to see if it was the same women). I feel that they just want to argue and really don't care about the garment. I just stayed positive and finally she went away without giving me any negative feedback.

  8. God, what a horror! She's obviously just trying to make it a point of principle (unless she's pathetic enough to make an issue out of 99p?). Ok, so you made a little error in the listing, but at the end of the day you've admitted your mistake & apologised, been polite at all times & offered a full refund...what more does she want?! Clearly has too much time on her hands... Try not to worry about it, you've done everything right in my opinion! :)

  10. Christ, this person is insane! So sorry to hear this happened to you - I've found that people can be unbelievably bitchy on Ebay for some reason. Giving her a refund is certainly more than she deserves, but probably the best course of action. Hope you get it sorted! :]
