All I want for Christmas is um...any of the above?

Top-bottom, left-right: Allen Ginsberg poetry, Kurt Vonnegut novels, Eeeee Eee Eeee by Tao Lin, The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir, Pattern Magic One by Tomoko Nakamichi, Bill Bailey: Dandelion Mind DVD, Pamela Love Anatomic Heart Locket from here(or just an anatomical heart necklace), Rose in Glass Vial Necklace from here, Scissors Paper Rock Necklace from here, Pattern Paper, Pattern Notcher & Pattern Drill all from here.

Can't believe it's December today. Feeling very Christamessy, went shopping yesterday & pretty much got everything for my family (advantage of having a small family) & it's cold & snowy! What do you want for Christmas? Have somehow pushed the fact that I have 2 exams in January but oh well...

CHRISTMAS LOVE.

  4. Love the rock paper scissors necklace!!

And yes, I'm feeling christmassy now! Well, Birthday-y aswell! Snow has got to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!

Also, just wanted to ask you a quick question (it seems you know your stuff about graphics/arty stuff),

I'm thinking of buying a sketchpad for my friend, but I can't find any ones that you can personalise online. So, I was going to get her to put her signature for me on an A3 sheet of paper, and somehow transfer it onto this canvas sketchpad:

Do you have any idea how I could transfer that onto the canvas ?

  6. Serina:
You could screen print it DIY style? Just stretch some muslin (or woven fabric) over an empty frame, then buy some acrylic paint, that should take. Cut her signature out of card with a scalpol or something & then place the front of the book down, then the stencil, then the screen, sqeeze on some paint & use a credit card to pull down over the gaps in the stencil.

Or you could use carbon paper to trace through the signature and then paint very very carefully with a small brush to make it bolder? Or scribble with pencil on the back of the print out & trace through old school style.

Did that help? I would go to an art store & ask!

  7. That heart locket is lovely. I never want very much for Christmas; I think this year I am getting lots of films and for my birthday (I'm a winter baby haha) I am getting money for interrailing. I think quite simple things make me happy. And eugh I have five exams. It's veryvery rubbish. Merry December!

  9. Jess, yeah that did help! Thank you :) I think I'll have to experiment first though so I don't mess it up, but I will go ask an art store too (if I can find one in this damn city)

    Thanks so much!
