Just about to tear myself away from Rupert Murdoch crumbling in front of the epic, wonderful Tom Watson to get on a plane for two weeks of holiday, yay! I haven't been organized enough to set up some timed posts unfortunately but in Berlin (photo source) I will have internet so maybe if I can find enough time between constantly updating news websites I can get some posts down! After that I'm disappearing into the ether so... (queue wildly inappropriate word bubble)
Ta ta for now!

Quick post to say I have FINALLY finished tumbling all my favorite looks from the past Resort, Spring & Couture shows over at ICBFASHION.tumblr.com. I know you can pick your own but I like to narrow down my choices for collages/inspiration/overview you know? It also gives me an excuse to flood this blog with more gifs! Mwah ha ha, this time a copycat of another seasons Christopher Kane collection because damn his clothes look good in quick succession, no?
& holy shit, whilst I was painting skirting board & watching prime ministers questions the Murdoch empire took a massive step back! Go us & our signatures & Ed Miliband who is frankly kicking ass right now, along with Gordon Brown, who personally I think should still be PM. I want sturdy moral politicians like him, not slick robotic evil PR machines like who we've ended up with. Looking forward to reading about the Guardian picking apart exactly how Cameron was lying in Parliament about them not warning him, because I am smug in the middle-class way sometimes. I'll go there. Although by pure definition I am not middle-class I read the Guardian, ergo it comes with the territory. Anyway enough of my extremely English internal class war...
It's sunny tomorrow.

Right into the flowers on my balcony *ahem*. Seemed like the perfect setting for the gorgeous cover designed by the eternally wonderful Grace Hamilton & there's even more exclusive pieces by her created especially for SWEAT. Along with...
The review of Suck It And See I promised,
and some super lovely photography by Billie Turner,
as well as an interview with the girl herself.
You can get hold of your very own issue to hold in your very own hands for just
***£1 or $1.50***
or take advantage of the fact that it's all online right here.
Because I love you!

Quickly quickly before I go out to watch Gregg Araki films (Kaboom is ace), drink ginger beer Shandy's & forget all my money woes here is the dress I got in Glasgow, or rather my father kindly gifted me with. It's meant to be full length as you can see by the 4th picture & online here, although it's also a lot more creamy than mine online too. But however much fashion magazines & catwalks are taking inspiration from Big Love sometimes I just don't feel like looking like a peasant/Mormon. So I took a belt, held it up around my waist and belted through all the fabric (& slip) as much as I could. I was left with a little excess at the back as a sort of bustle, but I put it to the side & we'll just call it a design feature. Now all I need to do is sort out my horribly bruised legs & summer ahoy! (PS does anyone else find puzzling tattoos peeping through lace/crochet/sheer fabrics completely absorbing? To the extend they cannot continue in normal conversation?)
Its also kind of fed the fact that marriage & the idea of it seems to be following me around lately. First my manager at work was getting married (not very significant) then a couple of my friends got engaged, then I discovered someone had already thought about engagement rings for some lucky lady in the future, also that someone else had already resolutely decided with her boyfriend that they were completely against marriage. It's funny how marriage is either something people idolize & fantasize about a la rom-coms, or completely do not want to be associated with in the slightest & completely don't understand. I think it has to do with your parents mostly, mine were never married & didn't work out, so I don't have any bad associations with marriage, whereas most of my friends of divorced parents do not want to get married. Anyway it's just a dress. A dress that I suspect was Zara's highstreet take on one Mrs. Princess' (is she a Princess?) dress, so for now I will wear it short & only long when trying to freak out the boy. Mwah ha ha ha.
Also the scary bottom photo is in aid of presenting you, internet world, with my new ring. New as of almost a month ago now, but I am slow on the news bringing. I've wanted an evil eye for a while but nothing seemed ok enough to part with my cash under the eyes of the scary goths in Twilight Fashions, who look at me in disgust. But the lovely J-meister gave it to me for the anniversary & so it has joined his other ring on my own very little *scary goth* hand.
Tomorrow I will be spending some quality time with the internet, catching up on all your wonderful blogs & returning comments in shame at my delay in doing so. Also, there will be an extra very special AMAZING post tomorrow so if you are still reading...check back then!
Goth love.

My long weekend in pictures, from top:
Lights from the Cedric Price exhibition at the Lighthouse Museum in Glasgow, I admit I hadn't heard of him but apparently he's some kick ass architect... from what I could tell.
View from the viewing platform at the top of the Lighthouse looking across at the Macintosh tower (think that's what it's called) there was also a really lovely view across the center of Glasgow but I fucked up the photo.
More from the Cedric Price exhibition, I loved the way they displayed it all on Peg Board, over the last couple of weeks this stuff has become the bain of my life, once I've figured it out I'll write more & reveal all!
Osprey skeleton from the Riverside Museum which my dad dragged me to so he could look at the building, I dunno, when did stuff from the 70s/80s become old enough to put in a museum. Plus all the name plates next to the clothing didn't say the fabric, designer, or where they were from. Apart from one Audrey Hepburn dress. It got very frustrating.
& finally the broth/minestrone I made today from a recipe by Ottolenghi in the Guardian. Since my mum's been away I've been cooking like a housewife. Just from recipes but I made this lovely creamy chicken pasta thing the other night & the J-ster was well impressed.
Had a really good time even though I didn't spend a lot of time in actual Glasgow. Talking business plans isn't exactly fun but I did get a very lovely dress from Zara - was a gift from my dad, doesn't count against my NY resolution! - that I will photograph & blog when I find someone to hold a camera/phone.
How's your weekend?

What's happened can only be expressed through garish gifs, ok? Ok. So it's a displacement activity. But how HOW if you are a brand can you 1. Wait until all this broke to take your advertising out of a newspaper like the News of the World. 2. Work again with basically the same people at a different newspaper, as they're the ones who were there when the whole shit was going on. 3. Work in any way shape or form with Rupert Murdoch, his brood or News Corp again. I say boycott anyone who was there in the first place. (PLUS Tesco are still fucking there!?)
**Edit. The urls for the Sun on Sunday were registered two days ago. Seriously? He loses nothing, if anything he's cut his losses on a tired paper & will carry on as usual**
WE CANNOT LET THEM USE THIS AS A BRUSH OFF FOR THE PROSECUTIONS & INVESTIGATIONS THAT NEED TO TAKE PLACE. THESE PEOPLE ARE STILL DOING WHAT THEY DID & WE NO LONGER HAVE A DEMOCRACY, I REFUSE TO GIVE UP OUR FREEDOM OF PRESS (WHAT LITTLE WE HAVE LEFT) WITHOUT A FIGHT.

"In 48 hours, nearly half the British mass media could be bought by one of the world's worst media moguls.
Rupert Murdoch has exploited his vast media empire to push war in Iraq, elect George W Bush, spread resentment of muslims and immigrants, and block global action on climate change. He undermines democratic government across the world by threatening elected leaders with vicious and often false media coverage unless they do his bidding.
Britain plays a key role in Europe and the world. If Murdoch has a lock on British media, he will use it to undermine UK, EU and UN support for human rights and democracy. The UK is up in arms over the Murdoch bid, and even the government, elected with Murdoch's help, is split down the middle as it makes a decision this week. Global solidarity bolstered Egypt's pro-democracy protesters -- it can help Britain's. Let's build an urgent global outcry to stop Rupert Murdoch. Sign the petition to Prime Minister Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Clegg!"
