Wore this to work last week because I was just damn tired on the grey skys & black clothes. I was also wearing a bright green coat which I hope perked up at least a few peoples days. Plus the copy of Strangest Man signed by Graham Farmelo (the author) & Peter Higgs of the Higgs Boson! Well chuffed. Also got my equation on his twitter in amazement that anyone would love the Dirac equation enough to etch it onto their arm forever. Apologies for the art teacher hair, after work & excitement my bun was a little out of control.

Last week was pretty mammouth in terms of STUFF HAPPENING so here's a neat bullet point list to catch up on:
  • Monday I went to the countryside. I don't think anything else exciting happend.
  • Tuesday my mum got made an Alderman. There's an article here. With a picture of her (2nd photo) & her tiny little medal that isn't even on a silk ribbon. Did also almost spit in Barbara Wank's face after she made a speech about women in politics, the exact group she diminishes every time you talk to her about equality.
  • Tuesday (again) went to a feminist debate at the Watershed where I had to be marched out by my mum at the end before I punched someone. I was so angry I was shaking. Healthy, no. If you scroll down I wrote a massive rant about it. Thinking of starting my own feminist group that doesn't just have the kind of people that would join a feminist group. Impossible.
  • Wednesday went to a talk by Graham Farmelo & Peter Higgs, where I sat next to (& possibly offended by not recognising) a famous physicist in the front row, got my photo taken by Graham Farmelo (because of my tat) & got my book signed by him & Mr Higgs. *!* SCIENCE *!*
  • Thursday went to New Look press day, but more importantly Bauhaus exhibition at the Barbican. It has loads of stuff that wasn't at the Bauhaus Archiv which was fascinating & the timeline from creation to closure was well done (including some hypnotising fonts & tapestries along the way). The only disappointment was the gift shop where there were limited posters & the nice tights were £48!
  • Friday was uneventful until I got a massive shooting pain through my tooth & then spent the whole evening on the phone to NHS Direct who promised to call me back & didn't until 5.30 the next morning. Now I'm waiting on a follow up appointment. Oh joy.
Phew, how was your week?

So here it is, a little Sunday treat for my 340th post (how insane is that?) I finally got my ampersand! I don't know if I've mentioned it on the blog, but my friends will know that I've been wanting to get an ampersand tattoo since before I got my equation or anything else. It's taken me a few years but I finally decided on a font (Bold Monotype Garamond, the type my favorite poetry book is set in) & a placement (just above my elbow).

& now with my infinity (yes, it looks like an 8) as well I can say "To infinity and beyond!" through tattoos (almost). Part of me wants to get a 2 just to cement it... is that sad? I didn't set out to spell a Toy Story phrase with the things I've etched into my body forever but hey! Oh & by the way my equation is the Dirac equation that predicted antimatter, hence the beyond, as in parallel universes.

Sorry about the sloppy Sunday outfit. AA leggings & a t-shirt are like pyjamas for the world. Although now pyjamas are fashionable... Oh how confusing. Also sorry for all the marks all over my arm, yesterday I hurt myself by what my mum thinks is an allergic reaction to the masking tape used for the cling film bandage I have to wear for another day, ewww.

Happy Sunday!

Introducing... the most beautiful dress in the whole world! This is the separate post of the lovely thing my mum bought me for my birthday. Because when we walked into Liberty & after stumbling around gasping in awe before then asking where Antipodium was & I saw this dress times 2 (in the 2 sizes I am no less, talk about fate) everything clicked into place. I have to confess though that despite my new years resolution I did pay for half of the lovely being, as it is the most expensive garment I now own. & otherwise it would've seemed like a stupid amount of money for either me or my mum to spend. Even though it hangs perfectly. Even though all I have to do to work my favorite new trend is whip off my bra & unbutton it to the waist. Even though it's made out of the lovliest silk & has the awesomest pattern that makes everyone I encounter in it (even those in my physics class who are less than impressed by my fashion choices) want to touch it. Even though it's the very one thing I own that I can picture myself wearing for life (into my 80s plus a slightly longer slip...). It also makes me want to prance around like a girly fool (see above photos) & wear high shoes & schoolgirl socks so um...yes. It is perfect.

& for those of you who have been asking this is what is left of my finger tattoo. It's been looking like this for about a month now since the excess ink scabbed & fell off. My bf is not amused, someone told me it looks like biro & whilst getting a tattoo with another friend at a different shop he told me the girl who did it should re-do it for free out of embarrassment. But part of me sort of likes it like that, so I haven't found the time to force Mr Jay to go over it just yet.

This is a lot of writing I'm sorry but here's some boring stuff about where I've been for the last 2 days, mainly IN HELL. My internet broke. Now this may seem like an overreaction but I have lost 2 whole fucking days to trying to fix it, getting no work done, when I have lots of work to do & getting more & more frustrated. The lovely lovely computer guy from Personic spent about 2-3 hours here today trying to fix it only to say that the problem is probably my laptop. My new laptop, as my brother gave me his hand me down & I passed mine to my sister. Turns out after spending £100 on a battery that might not be the only thing wrong with it... But it's so beautiful, how could anything go wrong with something so beautiful?

How!?
