UNDERAGE&OVERDRESSEDICAN'TTELLEMAPART

Oh my, how wonderful are these Nixon watches? (available through ASOS)

My mom wanted to get me a lovely delicate vintage watch for my 18th, so we headed to the most amazing vintage jewelry shop in Bristol (in Clifton arcade, for those of you who know Bristol) & there were some lovely ones but we came to the conclusion that I'm not really a watch person. At least not a delicate watch person...

So I've turned my affection onto big ass plastic watches instead. If only they weren't £50 each!

Also lovely people, I decided to create a blog for a zine I started making about 6 months ago (the first issue is up!) & the second issue is almost finished but I'm looking for contributors.

It's called SWEAT and you can find that first issue right here.

If you interested e-mail me: sweat.zine@gmail.com
If
you
- draw
- create
- make
- write
- know
or are generally obsessed with beautiful things

Ok I will stop bombarding you with links to things I'm selling or doing soon. It's just I handed in all my coursework so I have time & am feeling strangely proactive of late.

Happy Sunday

(points for anyone who can tell me what song the below quote is from)

Everyone
has this t-shirt I know, I know. But I got mine in South Korea so that wins right?

Photobucket
Been trying to grow my hair but at the moment it's simply...unmanageable

Photobucket
Sat on a spiky wall as you can tell from all the rips in my brand new tights. I try painting them with nail varnish but, then I just make new ones :(

Photobucket
New favorite lipstick...

Photobucket
And I've been channeling the cheerleader look to get my hair out of my face & some serious work done! (coursework deadlines killed me this week)

Again, hello & thank you to all the new followers/commenter's & of course the oldies too!
It's so lovely to know there are so many nice creative people out there & sometimes, that I'm not completely mental...

One new blogger I've come across really caught my eye

Gabriella
Lacza
and her blog:
Gemology

She writes beautifully & courtesy of her, here's an extract made from lines of different songs, along with a few of her beautiful photographs too, enjoy

It’s a pointless, small place - on a map in outer space. Oh, I'll stand with you and marvel at the cosmos pink and bright. I've never been so lucky I'm always wondering if this world is a dream or this dream is a world. I'm in love with your brains - you are a genius, and I don't say that about anyone. And I've been so lucky to even know you, everything you touch turns to gold. In our world we are millionaires, millionaires. Every day is a future memory, and I have no fear of growing old. I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life. But I still wander between the sheets and streets and other places we've been. Dancing reflections gone wild - your reflection I did not see. It was the hottest day in August and we were heading for the sea. We cut the legs off of our pants - threw our shoes into the ocean. I rose out of the water, I can hold my breath for only so long. Sing me a salty blue song, I'll be gone. With watery cheeks down flowered lanes; while the universe was drawn, perfect circles form infinity. Saw the stars get smaller, tiny diamonds in my memory.

Finally I've also listed some un-vintage but a hell of a lot cheaper clothes on eBay which you can find here.

Including this lovely jacket:

I'm stuck on a train somewhere beyond Reading after an impulsive decision to get on a train at about eleven last night and meet my boyfriend somewhere between Bristol and London.

Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely lovely. But right now I'm meant to be in a classroom doing a physics experiment in preparation for my practical exam.

Luckily before I decided to go out and 'celebrate' handing in all my coursework, I started a post on what I was wearing yesterday PLUS some more exciting news, so here is that::

Photobucket
Not amazingly interest but I was thinking that I normally only post up pictures of me when I'm going out, because that's when other people are taking pictures of me... so this is everyday!

Photobucket
My face is not made for morning, apologies.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Tried to a get a picture of the beautiful bullet/crystal necklace my boyfriend got his friend to make me about a year ago. It's spent most of it's life being glued back together at my local jewelry shop.

And new shoes! New shoes! They're laced up all down the front with peep toe and peep heel (?) which I'm not especially sure of. My friend got them on the Topshop website and although my Topshop cull continues I figured I could justify buying them off her for a knock down price.

Oh yes and I don't think I've shown you my wall.
I've
been thinking of getting this equation tattooed on my arm for a while now so I decided to spray paint it on my wall, so now I stare at it everyday. And you know what? It's still damn beautiful...
Photobucket

And
FINALLY the more exciting news...

I've
started an etsy shop!
Beginning with some vintage I no longer have room for in my heart

Although me & Jesus are in the experimental phase of developing it a lot more so stay tuned & I'll keep you well and truly up to date, guaranteed!

Just realized how full of things I've done impulsively this post is.

- getting on a train in the middle of the night
- spray painting a giant equation on my wall
- starting an etsy shop (sort of)

Hmm... maybe that's something I need to work on

What's the most impulsive thing you've ever done?

PS. Thank you so much to all the new followers and commenters
I've tried to get back to you all but it's so hard to keep up.
So many beautiful, creative, talented people, so very little time...

Dear
magic fairy in the sky,

Well...you know it's my 18th in a few weeks & I've asked everyone for jewelry? I was thinking maybe you could fix it so they magically all knew each other & decided to club together & buy me this necklace of absolute perfection.

At $115 I don't think I'll be able to afford it in these 'saving-up-for-the-future' times but you know I'd rock it so beautifully. & even though madewell have clubbed together with one of my arch nemis' for a new collection they do sell rather beautiful jewelry, which can be found here. If you were interested.

Oh & in an ideal world the earrings too would be lovely, but I know your very busy & it's a little short notice. But maybe if you could somehow fix it so this made it's way around my neck, I'd be eternally great full & tidy your room for a whole week! If you'd like.

Well thank you magic fairy, I can't wait for your reply

Me
and Jesus simultaneously came to the same realization that there's a lot of blue nail varnish floating about at the moment. It delveloped into a bit of an obsession until eventually I took the step of 'borrowing' my friend Heidi's blue nail varnish to become one of 'those girls'.
Photobucket
I'm not entirely sure why it's so appealing. There's something about the feeling of when your little and you start wearing make up for the first time.

That low quality stuff that sticks together or dries up too quickly that you got free in a magazine.

Photobucket
It's also a pretty standard (and therefore cheap) colour. Heidi got hers in Asda for less than £2

Here's my recreation. Apologies for the photo quality and hair issues. I've been sat on my bedroom floor with my laptop all morning trying to write my English essay on Othello...
Photobucket

For about three years I just wore white nail varnish (the stuff your meant to use for manicure tips), that was my look, in fact an old friend once told me the world would turn upside down if I stopped wearing white nail varnish.

This year though I've branched out. So sorry Max, but actually the world turns upside down everyday...
Photobucket
Waiting for someone to go to New York so they can get me some black KO matte nail varnish.
(every time I try and pay for it on the website it doesn't go through...just me??)
Photobucket
Also saw a very lovely H&M sales assistant wearing bright orange sparkly nail varnish. She told me it was this sparkle & fade polish from Urban Outfitters

Which would go perfectly with my latest purchase of Rimmel's Coral Queen lipstick after falling in love with the Mac Morange shade on everyone at the moment

What make up are you loving at the moment?

My plans for summer
Photobucket

Worn under
Photobucket
On cold nights around a barbecue

Looking for vintage slips & nighties everywhere. Figuring I'll just float around in these however cold it is this summer.

To balance it out though I've also been hunting for 'male' jackets. However, the blazers been done, leathers been done, what other jackets do they wear? ISSUE

I know, I know, not very season appropriate but I'm tired of big jumpers

Aren't you?

RESOLUTIONSREDISCOVERED

Happy February! To kick off the month I'm looking back at the New Year's Resolutions I made on New Years Eve & how I've been getting on... & it's a good excuse to find loads of lovely images from the wonderful internet...here goes.

1. Waste less money on CDs, Clothes & books
Well I don't think I'm 'wasting' as much as I used too. I now make endless lists & don't allow myself to purchase anything that isn't on it. So I guess I'm more focused...

Photobucket
2. Read some classic books
Ok, so I started the year reading Slaughterhouse 5 & then moved onto Valley of the Dolls. Both sort of classics but I've also bought Stendal's, The Red and the Black and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to read after I've finished Paul Dirac's biography. So yeah I'm on track!

Photobucket
3. Sell old clothes I don't wear
Haven't started on this at all. It takes so damn long to sort through everything and photograph it and upload it and hope someone buys it and post it etc etc etc. But half terms not too long away so maybe I'll have some time on my hands then...

Photobucket
4. Stay in love
It was rocky for a little while. But our planet is back in perfect rotation.

Photobucket
5. Party less & sleep more
Between birthdays, band nights I've somehow been connected with and end of exams I've still been out most nights and still don't feel un-tired (if that's even a word) ever.

Photobucket
6. Watch all those films I've bought & never seen
Done. Done. Done. My best mate went through a really hard time with a girl who screwed up his heart so we spent a lot of time smoking and watching beautiful films. Actually finally saw Paris, Texas and fell utterly in love

Photobucket
7. Work harder at college
Sort of. Exams are over so a lot of pressure's off. Coursework in English so that's easier. & quantum in physics so it's more interesting. Plus an extension on my photography deadline. Yeah college is pretty sorted right now.

Photobucket
8. Decide what to do with my life
The biggin' (as we say here in the west country) Well I've realized what to do for at least another year. Going round the open days as all the University of the Arts London, college open days (St Martins, London College of Fashion, Camberwell, LCC etc) & will be moving to London next year after my A levels. The only question is who with...

Photobucket
9. Go to more comedy gigs
Fail. I have been going to a lot of gigs generally though, does that count?

Photobucket
10. Start making clothes again
Fail again. I've started sketching again though which I guess is a start. It's just a time thing. I wish I had that watch from that program I used to watch as a kid, where he pressed the watch and time stopped. Oh the things I would do...

Photobucket

How are yours going?
