POETRYTHURSDAY±1

I love love poetry.
&
I love love Thursdays.

So
I introduce to you, fair readers, Poetry Thursday. To try & force myself to look out for/ research/ find new poets & poetry I will try & post a poem every Thursday, from now until I get bored of this.

The
first poet is one of my all time favorites:
Roger McGough

I
have posted one of his poems before. But this one is a new personal favorite from a volume I saw at work & bought, but didn't read until Mr Jay picked it out on my floor a few weeks ago.

The Act of Love

The
act of love lies somewhere

Between the belly and the mind
I
lost the love sometime ago

Now
I've only the act to grind.

Brought
her home from a party

Don't
bother swapping names

Identities not needed
When
your only playing games

High
on bedroom darkness

As we endure the pantomime
Ships that go bang in the night
Run
aground on the sands of time

Saved
in the nick of dawn

It's
cornflakes and then goodbyes

Another notch on the headboard
Another day
wondering why

The
act of love lies somewhere

Between the belly and the mind
I
lost the love sometime ago

Now
I've only the act to grind.

  2. I really really like this. The flow is perfect. And I got the latest issue in the mail:)

You are seriously the master of cute packaging. I didn't even want to open the envelope, fearing I'd rip it.

  3. I like! Quite modern I guess! And lovely photo too!

And thank you for the feedback on the dress ;) I don't think it was meant to be, it was sold out haha! And I know what you meant, the bottom half just wasn't doing anything! But you are totally right... I need to go out and take a look!!

The word verification is RETRO today! Sorry that was random.
