Finally, finally on Sunday I made it to see Howl. I say finally because I've been working my way up to an English essay comparing Allen Ginsberg to Roger McGough & so the various articles aka research material being generated by this film is making my life a hell of a lot easier. I also have just spent the morning editing together the video above of just the poem, which is read out sporadically between James Franco talking & Don Draper defending the poem in court. Part of me thinks it would've been better as the documentary they originally set out to make, but all in all Franco reading out the poem (almost) in full was/is pretty intense. I'd appreciate a play so it doesn't feel like I wasted like 3-4 hours of my life.

Anyone else seen it?

  1. This is beautiful and I reeeeeally want to go and see the film. I was thinking I may go this week. Oh and this could never be the result of a wasted 3-4 hours.

  2. Oh and wow two of my favourite poets. I so wish I had been able to take English Literature A Level. Instead I have wonderfully soulless maths. Yum.
